Recently Mosby Tower underwent a green building retrofit, resulting in an Energy Star rating of 85. Energy Star ratings are awarded to buildings that are at least 75% more efficient in terms of energy and electricity use than other buildings in their class. A score of 85 indicates Mosby Tower is more efficient than 85% of similar office buildings.
Mosby Tower uses the best non-toxic paints for all interiors resulting in low/no VOC exposure for tenants. These high-performance, low VOC products deliver superior interior finishes that leave no residual odor after application. Typically these types of paints are utilized in spaces that require highly sensitive levels of indoor environmental quality, such as healthcare facilities.
The building also increased its water efficiency by utilizing low flow toilets, appliances and infrared fixtures in public and private restrooms. Private bathrooms are common in suites at Mosby Tower.
A full building relamping was also completed and high efficiency, multi-stage chillers were installed and timers are employed for maximum optimization of interior mechanical systems.
